Like Rob said, a standard volume oil pump will be more than adequate for a motor under 450 HP. A high volume oil pump does create a little more parasitic drag, but it is neglible in light of the benefits that it will produce.

I've also heard with a high volume pump and a stock oil pan that you can actually end up sucking up all the oil in the pan and having it all up in the engine and nothing left in the pan for it to suck up.
