It doesnt mean anything. It is just the code GM assigned to the suspension package on the Pontiacs. Eventually they added different wheels and a ramiar hood to the package, but early on it was just the handling package.

Many WS6 cars have a 4 speed automatic transmission.

i believe the SS and WS6 came STANDARD with auto transmissios. It sucks, but that's what the majority of people want nowadays.

6 speed has been a no charge option since 94, auto is standard......and yes, that is what most folks order.

I don't think he meant to offend you. Almost every guy wishes they had a girlfriend who shares an interest in cars. If you have a boyfriend, and judging by your picture and your personality, you do, he's really lucky. I myself know maybe one or two girls/women that know for sure that ws6 is even a car term.

You're probably thinking a WS6 is like a Cobra because all Cobras come in stick, but that's not the case. WS6 is just better suspension, ram air, P275 17 rims/tires, and a few more.

I do like Ford's moto on the Cobra, though. "You want a Cobra? Drive stick."

Actually, I think it wasn't unti 97 that the A4 was standard and the M6 was a no cost option. Before that, the M6 was standard.

I believe the WS6 option was started in '78. It was a handling package as most "W" RPO codes were. You got 4 wheel disc brakes.

3rd gen was the same thing but also added different gears, 16" wheels. I think it was required for the 350 cars.

Then it stopped being offered in the 4th gen until '96. Then you got a hood/air filter setup, 17" wheels/tires, different exhaust tips, and some suspension tweaks. '98+ also received a different exhaust.
