I have listened to Hannity (I can’t really listen to him anymore and usually don’t) and I have listened to people that know Hannity I can tell you that if you think he is an anti-Semite you are 100% incorrect. So I can only assume you are calling him the name as a method to cut him down. I have learned that people tend to call people names when they have no factual arguing points against them. It is a weak argument to call someone a name.

Either way who ever gets in office is gonna have their work cutout for them. I'm starting to get sick of hearing things like "its not bush's fault" what the hell is his job then, professional golfer
Takes more than a president to do that. There's a house of representatives and a senate that has allowed much to occur.

      ....

And this BS war you speak of, is this the same one that allowed Iraqis to vote in the same fashion we do. You know, the one that gave them freedom like we enjoy to elect their own leaders rather than have a dictator who was killing them, literally??? I'm offended that you think the war is BS. If that's a BS war, then what was our Revolution? The war of 1812 was also a fight to maintain our freedom from Britain again, also BS? If we had given up then like so many want to do in Iraq, we would still be under British rule or only recently released. War is horrible but sometimes necessary thing.

      ....

Democrats Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are mainly responsible for the housing crisis. They are the ones who championed the idea of loans for people who were not qualified whatsoever for large loans, which gave these lenders bad debt which led to this whole economic downturn in the last month. Just one example.

A lot of people want to either exclude Bush or blame him solely for all the woes in this country. There are a whole host of corrupt politicians in office that are contributing to the mess we are in.

I agree that whoever gets in will have their hands full. It will really be their test of merit. That's why I'm not voting for Obama. I haven't seen anything that indicates he or his VP are capable of much change from the typical at all. I also agree that, IMO, Bush hasn't championed alternative energy because many of his buds are in the oil industry.

Aren't most politicians that way though? Bought out by the special interest groups that paid for their campaigns?

What worries me about Obama is he is a typical Chicago politician. Anyone who knows much about Chicago politicians throughout history to the present day knows that they are a group of corrupt, power-hungry thugs. Does anyone remember how Meig's Feild airport in Chicago was demolished? Oh yeah, Mayor Daley didn't want to wait for legal proceedings to clear so he got bulldozers in the dead of night to destroy the runway. Similarly, Obama got into the Senate because the playing field was cleared. The media destroyed his opponents then and they are trying to do it again.

Every last person on this earth has skeletons in their closets yet no one in the mainstream media wants to reveal Barrack's statements/history over the last 10+ years. Conversely, they are more than willing to bring out any and all flaws of his opponents. I find it interesting as well that when we were still in the primaries of Hillary v. Barrack, the media was on the side of whomever was leading and smashing whoever wasn't. This at times included Obama-bashing. Yet, now that Obama is the Democrat candidate for presidency, not one of the "mean" things that were said about him in the primaries has come back out in the mainstream.

      Obama's 2001 public radio interview
Listen to this interview, done before Obama had any aspirations for the Presidency.

Too many people have been suckered into believing the mainstream media bias that this country is awful and needs a major change.

B.S. tax cuts? Hmmm, I'm both the parent of a college student and an accountant. In 2001, the Republican congress passed some tax cuts (for 2002) that directly affect me and lots of other "middle" income Americans - the tuition and fees deduction. In that same year, they also came up with the educator expense deduction for teachers. Thanks to the lazy democrats that are controlling our congress now (Obama included), those tax cuts expired at the end of 2007. So, now that I'm sucking air helping my daughter pay for college, I can't even look forward to having that deduction.

I know a LOT of teachers who don't make much money to begin with and constantly have to pay for stuff for their students that is never reimbursed. The "tax cut" for educator expenses kept their deduction from being limited to anything above 2% of their adjusted gross income, if they could even file an itemized return. That's a biggie for teachers - if a teacher is making $40,000 a year, he or she has to have over $800 in expenses to deduct anything from their taxes. That wasn't true with the educator expense deduction.

So, you still think they're all B.S. tax cuts? There are other "B.S. tax cuts" about to expire too and they just might directly affect you.

Some good info and discussion in here, and I enjoy the lack of insults and name-calling. Yes, this country is a democratic republic, and, at it's founding, only land-owners had the right to vote for their representatives. Over the decades, others have gotten the privilege of helping to select the leaders- obviously, the blacks after Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Women suffregettes lobbied and had meetings, getting the women's right to vote in the early 20's, if I remember history- again, my grandmother, born in 1896 and college-educated passed down to me a spoon from one of these rallys, engraved "votes for women"- My point being that all the laws evolve, as society does. And the constitution, being a living document, allows for this evolving awareness.

One of my concerns about Mr. Obama is a quote of his, saying, in essence, that the constitution was a flawed document, one that he proposed to 'fix' Were this fix to occur, I would hope that any constitutional amendments would be ratified by the states, if not by the voters at large- There are issues at play here in contemporary America that may not all be in agreement with Christian values- and here is a man, Obama, who has denigrated people with real religious values as being 'mean rednecks with bibles and guns'- No realizing that it is this very religious tolerance that gives all of us the ability to discuss this without judgment or fear of retribution. Sad indeed, in a country thats currency proclaims "In God We Trust" that we need to define just what are family values, or argue about people's rights to have chemical dependencies.

I don't presume to judge anybody here, not my place or mission. That right is reserved for others, with more love and insight than I posess as a mere silly and vain human. I just hope we all can continue to learn and grow together, maybe someday the human race will get back to the garden- Sorry to ramble so, pleace jump in and point out where I strayed-

                      Peace out-

I have listened to Hannity on the radio and on TV for years and to be honest I have never heard of Hal Turner and I have never heard Sean say his name.

As for the word racist or bigoted or whatever I feel that Rev White is a big time racist.

                          Who is Sen. Palin?

I disagree with the entire republican party on their stance on abortion. Go up to a republican and ask them how old they are. After they tell you the answer then ask if that is from the date of birth or the date of conception. If they say the date of birth say I thought republicans believe life begins at conception. Let me be clear, I am not "for" abortion. I think 3rd term abortions are disgusting and that it is killing a viable life that has a high percentage of living outside the mother. This subject to the mothers health of coarse. By the same token I believe a first term abortion is killing nothing but an ameba or "fetus" that bares little difference from a tad pole. The entity has no ability to think or understand anything. (yea I know that can be argued) So the real sticking point is the middle 1/3. I say we slit that in half and call it the first 4 1/2 months ok and the last 4 1/2 months not ok. If a women doesn't know she is pregnant by 3 months she is a total idiot. That gives her 6 weeks to take care of it. That includes rape incest etc. After that abortion should not be used as birth control. Also as I said earlier the health of the mother or the baby during the last half of the pregnancy takes precedence over the ban on last half abortion. Also the health of the mother is higher than the health of the baby. If it is an either one or the other will live situation it is up to the mother to choose and if she is not able to then her health is more important than the fetus. After that I say both sides are to put the subject to rest and get to more important issues.

I think that's a mere construct of society that we define our age by when we left our mother's womb rather that when our parents concieved us. Let's be honest, who knows which time actually produced the result, right?

I don't agree with abortion for the convenience of saying "whoops I'm pregnant." Those people need to take responsibility for their actions. As for rape victims (incest as well), and medically challenged, I'd say it should be up the woman. Never should anyone else be able to tell a women to go get an abortion and force it. So you could say I'm for non-late-term abortion only. Women died in childbirth before. It is the risk you take to bring new life into the world. To me there is no reason for the disgusting thing that is late-term abortion.

I believe it is life from the moment of conception. When you're in the process of baking a cake and you mix it up and put in the oven, someone asks you what's in the oven. Do you say "it's a cake" or do you say "a mixture of eggs, sugar, flour, etc."? I think this will be a debate into eternity of what point it is now life or just a collection of cells. It depends on how you define life.

Here is another area I disagree with the republican party. I feel that whatever consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedrooms is their business and no one else's. Call it gay rights or whatever. The problem comes in when you get to legal issues like marriage or spousal rights like at a hospital and in case of death and wills. In a free country they should have the same rights as everyone else.

My solution to this is a bit different. The conservatives take issue with gay marriages because of the connotations with their religious beliefs. Today the gay rights activists are trying to make the conservatives give up their religious beliefs concerning the word marriage. I understand why conservatives are against gay marriage and they have a right to it because marriages have been around a lot longer than when it got coupled to the laws. My "fix" to this is to decouple the words "marriage" and the legal aspects of marriage. Create a words and for now I am going to use the word "unionize" and make the law use that term. Now create a list of words or procedures that qualify for the legal aspects of being unionized. Marriage would be one of them. The gay community can make up their own word as long as it is not marriage or getting married. For now I am going to call the word in the gay community "hitched" (whatever). So you go to get a "unionized" license so you can get the legal aspects of it like filing a joint tax return or visiting rights in ICU. Then you go get "married" or "hitched" or whatever. The conservatives keep their marriages and the gay community gets the legal rights they want and need. Case closed. Move on. Next.

Can you tell I'm an engineer. I find solutions to fix problems. Maybe we need an engineer to be president. How about an injuneer.
