    Here is the VATS connector:

    The schematic for the BCM:

That's all I can do from work.

Thanks! But, I've been looking at those and my FSM, I just need to know where these items are, the more I think of it the more I suspect the VATS system, but the really odd thing is that I don't see the "security" or "SES" lamps when I turn the key...so I'm not even sure anymore...it doesn't help that all these systems are tied together, LOL.

On Page 8A-21-13 (in the 95 manual) there is a component locator. Then in the back in the 200/201 sections there are pics of the parts & their locations. The Theft Deterrent Module is located just to the right of the radio attached to the air bag bracket.

Also on page 8A-30-11 (95 manual) there is a section called Starter & Charging - Circuit operation. It talks about the TDR in the same way i tried to describe yesterday, but in more detail.

There's a bunch of pages on the Theft Deterrent System 8A-133 in my book - flow charts, troubleshooting, & diagrams.

By the way - do you have another key to try witht he pellet in it?

That was the 1st thing I tried

I'll have another look at those flow charts...thanks for the tip!

Worst case, I'll look at the part and order another one...just hate to start throwing parts at it.

Well, think I'm going to try and replace the anti theft module, its down to that or the ignition relay, which I can't seem to find...seeing how the symptoms seem to fit more in line with a bad module than relay (no SES/Security Light/no fuel signal etc)...seems to be the prudent thing to do. Too bad the dang things cost $113.00 from gmpartsdirect.com gonna be an expensive lesson if this isn't it.

Anyone ever replace one of these? It "seems" to only have one bolt/screw holding it place, but I can barely even see it due to its location next to the radio. Just wondering if this is going to a "joy" to R/R as the ign switch was...

Hey, If you got it all apart, can't you bypass the contacts on the relay?

Can't seem to find the relay even though the manual said it was under the dash somewhere...I don't have the module down from its location yet, but I think I could jump the wires with a fused wires, but the wire coloring may not be the same, dunno yet...I found a write up here:

                  http://216.239.39.104/search?q=cache...r+module&hl=en

Its not for F-bodies but its all I could find...
After staring at the schematics this really has got to be it...its the only thing left in common with all the effected systems...at least I tried the cheaper part (ign switch) first...LOL.

***For those that replaced your ignition switch, did you have any problems getting the steering shaft back into the knuckle? I have like a 1/4" to go before I can put the bolt back through...can seem to get it to line up.***

The only problem I had was the pinch bolt when over tightened, doesn't allow the collar to slip over the shaft all the way. I had to open up the pinch area with a flat blade screw driver in order for it to slip on easily. Once the bolt is tight, any slop gets taken up.

I had a similar problem recently, where everything would turn on but the engine wouldn't turn at all. I tried everything but ended up having it towed. Turned out there was a broken wire inside the steering column for the antitheft devide coming off of the ignition lock cylinder

                        YESSSS!

I grounded the power wire (yellow/black) and tried to start her...she turns over! So now I KNOW its a bad anti theft module. Sure am glad I ordered the part already....heh.

Dang...this is 2 of em' I've had to replace in 11 yrs time, these Delco parts suck!

For the future if anyone has any problems like this...I found this write up to be AWESOME:

Thanks for the help everyone!!! Now I just gotta wait on the UPS guy for the new one to come in.

Thanks for all the help Joe!

One quick question as I was going over the electricals of the car, I noticed that I don't have "low beams" just "high beams"...would that be due to a misaligned dimmer switch next to the ign. switch? I'm betting yes...but don't wanna have to take it all apart again if I'm wrong

Hmm..... could be. Just to cover my butt, I made sure it all worked before I bolted the column back into place. I take it the switch won't click over from high to low? If not, you guessed it.

Yes, the switch works fine from low to hi...just no low beams. Which is all I thought the switch did...hi/low. But, now I'm not so sure.
