They may have looked the part, but didn't "feel" or drive like what I wanted so with disappointment...... I didn't buy them. I guess my criteria for buying is different. I only bought one car that I didn't like the way it drove and that was the Honda. It was miserable to drive, but I was at the right place at the right time and bought it cheap. I drove it for 35K miles and traded it for equal to what I had in it, so it wasn't a loss. I wish I could buy the way you do..... my injuries to my spine and neck just don't allow the risk.
I can kinda sympathise with that. I hated our old 1995 S10 Blazer. Whenever I drove it my legs would cramp up and throb in pain. I have no idea why, maybe the seating position or firmness of the seat itself? Whatever the cause, anything over 2 hours in that seat and I was totally miserable. I have never had that happen in any other vehicle.

If that was a problem that occurred more frequently, I would definitley need to drive a car for a few hours before commiting to buy it.

I just know from experience that every car is totally unique. Even the identical year, make, model, and all can drive totally different from one another. There are so many variables that even the most reputable sellers or dealers may not be qualified or experienced enough to diagnose or even comprehend certain problems wth the car.

I guess it boils down to whatever makes you happy and whatever you are successful at doing. To each his own.

Let me ask you guys a question.....Would you have married your wife WITHOUT test driving her?? (I can already see the answers.. )

I'm a fairly accepting, liad back easygoing guy. I'm not too picky about sedans and minvans. As long as it is in excellent overall shape and the price is right, I'm ok with driving it. I rarely own a car for more than a few years.

As far as test driving the wife, LOL, I totally agree with you. But, that is a little more a personal thing than a cummuter car. The commuter car just gets me from point A to point B until I get tired of it and want to try something different. The wife has to last a lifetime, so a bit more "research" was required. I love that kind of research. That took a lot of trial and error, sampling and test fitting. I had to examine everything under the hood, make sure the trunk wasn't rotted out and give the chasis a good lube. After a few thousand miles I was ready to make a purchase. Now all she needs is routine maintenance, an oil change here and there and some occasional TLC. No problemo!

You forgot to mention testing the highbeams. If you can switch those on, it is always a good sign. I also like to make there is just enough junk in the trunk. I try not to lube the chassis to much unless I am ready to own a few little mini coopers! Sometimes their PCM needs a little tweaking...hopefully not too much. Then there is always the the occasional swap meet to search for good new parts.........ooohh shoot wrong thread!

I'm getting my grease gun serviced this January. They are actually going to cut the line for me, so there wont be any more grease.

3 little mini coopers already in the house. Enough is enough!

Poor grease gun. Are you getting the reversible procedure?

I also have three Mini's in the garage. The wife had her car's plumbing taken care of... you know... while they were taking delivery of the last Mini. We figured since she was in the shop already....

Ok.... so what ever happened to the Camaro? I never got a response back when I said I would hire an independant inspector who would check the car and hand over payment, plus hire a shipping company of my choosing.

Well, it's not in my driveway. LOL.

The FBI knows about it, though.

It's good that you let the authorities know about it. Unfortunately, if he's outside of the country, there isn't a whole lot they can do other than shut down his ad.
