So many people say this is a great step forward for this country regarding race relations. I disagree. Never before have so many people voted for someone because of their skin color.

+1 and also for history's sake. Like I said in the other 'bama thread, this changes nothing. You don't magically change a country overnight.

I disagree...I think this is a great change.

Previously, we had 1 Republican and ALL Democrats (I'm from NJ...ALL of our politicians are Democraps).

Now, we have NO Republicans and ALL Democrats.

          Wooo...I can't believe the change?!?!?

Where do I go to get some of that "free stuff" Obama promised?

On a positive note...the French are absolutely thrilled we elected Obama. I'm so happy my country has made the French happy...yippee!

I bet my wife's dead cousin (Fireman who died on 9/11) is just thrilled we elected a president with the middle name Hussein. How soon we forget...

I'd like to congratulate Obama on the win. I'm not thrilled with the choice, but he is now our President... For better or worse.

I'm a bit concerned because I actually like my 401K. Now someone else is going to like it too...

Well at least we have learned the Cold War was a waste. Russia doesn't need to invade us militarily. She just has to appeal to the masses, so they elect her in.

what I have observed is the extent of control media conglomerates wield what the show in foreign countries over the past 21 months. Never in my history have I seen other countries getting forced coverage of our countries election like Uganda, Thailand, the UK, France, and trying to influence OUR election as a side effect and at the same time the candidates on the campaign trail, go to foreign countries while campaigning about their proposed foreign policies. While I was in Scotland in August, at 57'44" north, in a hotel, the most covered thing on the tele was the USA election !!!!! These facts and that the candidates were even doing so, should scare you.

I wonder what the outcome of Obama's Foreign policy 3 years from now.

Bush = strong foreign policy and weak domestic policy
will Obama = weak foreign policy and strong domestic policy ?

If he hadn't run this country into the ground and stomped on it, then tore up the Constitution and used it to wipe his a$$, Obama never would have been elected.

And what makes this a sad day for the country? Obama's message of hope and unity? His plan for middle class tax cuts? The prospect of a 5 year, pointless war ending? The protection of the environment? The improvement of America's standing in the world? Which of those are you against? And don't tell me it's because Obama is a terrorist-loving Muslim. Someone has been listening to too much Hannity.

I'm not thrilled at the prospect of a government completely controlled by Democrats; I believe a President needs to have some push back, but it will be interesting to see what can be accomplished. Cheer up, if things go bad, at least you can blame the Democrats. Of course, you'll have to give them their due if they make it work....

is this, or is this not what every single last 43 presidents have promised? and no i dont base my entire statement on just the fact that he doesnt like guns. i have a few things but its fine as long as he fulfills his promises and they arent just empty like all the other presidents. well we will see with the 4 years to come up. That sounds to me like another Hal Turner Quote!

You know I dont base the fact that more people than ever voted this election on the fact that he was of colored skin. I base it on the fact that There are so much people that are just simply tired of the Bush administration! Simple as that!

                        O Day +1...

The sun is still shining and there are no buildings/cars/houses burning. No riots in the streets or mass panic... its probably a good thing he was elected. Think of the above alternative.

I will never support socialism and if that means conflict, so be it!!!

As Patrick Henry so elequiently said,

There is a line in the sand for me and many Americans. If the three stooges Reid, Pelosi, and this POS piece of Marxist garbage cross it, I will fight back...plain and simple!

This ******* is not my president. I will not support him, or the people who elected him, or this Republic if it comes to that.
