    seems like its always something...

Pretty interesting to hear what your doing. Hopefully i can 'borrow' some ideas as you mod your car. Hope things start looking up.

Oh, and with the 1le elbow, i made one from my old elbow, just cut a piece of rubber i had from another elbow, and used some rubber sealant. Works good. What mods are you planning on doing?? Sounds like you gotta get everything working correctly first tho...

That's the rub..... when dealing with used cars, it is always something. You have to become self reliant if you ever plan on at least breaking even. Unless you really break something, labor is the biggest cost factor in most repairs. Take the intake manifold gasket. Hardly anything in parts, yet a shop will quote 350-400 for R&R of the intake to fix the oil leak. Paying for stuff like that would rapidly run up the costs. I'll be really f one day I can procure a tire machine. To be able to mount and dismount tires without taking them to a shop would be fantastic.

I diagnosed the A/C problem. The compressor has an internal leak. If I charge it, it works fine for a very short time. You can hear the internal leak. So.... it needs a compressor.

Um.... yeah. A Hypertech chip for $30 courtesy of Steve93Z! And.... on the way from FastTA, an a/c compressor for $95 shipped.

So far that makes it $2228 total, and an $828 out of pocket expense.

I haven't done anything with it in the last week. I've been short handed at work and my spare time is extremely limited. I'll probably get to it next week when I do the a/c.

Just added a set of embroidered floor mats. Regularly $120, purchased off the net still brand new for $50. Those are my kind of deals.

That's now a grand total of $2278, total out of pocket $878.

Hey, in what condition and what color are the old mats? If they're good and light grey, I may be interested in purchasing them

um..... Steve....... there weren't any. Sorry. I do happen to have a set left over from another project, but they really aren't in the greatest shape. I doubt that you would want them.

In some ways, this 93 is a pain in the butt. All the wheels I have except salad shooters require grinding the center hole a little larger to fit on the 93's rear hubs. I think I'm going to ultimately change the rear hubs to the later style..... I'm sick of grinding as I like to swap wheels and tires regularly.

I also am thinking about keeping the car 100% stock except for maybe the chip and thermostat. I am liking the quiet exhaust note, tall highway gears and besides.....I already have other stuff to mod. Either that or the T/A is going back to stock and all the mods transferred to the 93. One way or another, I want a nice and relatively quiet V8 f-body for some highway use.

Honestly, I'd leave the 93 stock. You'll get better mileage out of it, esp. with the 2.73s. I would suggest a better set of injectors though. I noticed a big difference in mine after upgrading to these LS6 injectors. Better mileage when I'm easy on her, little more umph when I molest the gas pedal. Just my thoughts.

By the way, how's that Hypertech chip workin' for ya?
